Dischem Parcel: Allergic Reaction Response
If you haven't seen my blog post about the allergic reaction I had to the L.A. Girl foundation, I'll leave a link here.
After having that terrible reaction that had after effects for over a month, such as making my skin EXTREMELY sensitive to anything I used besides Bio-Oil or coconut oil, I was not a happy camper. I love my makeup. I tried to film some YouTube videos for my channel, and I put the minimal amount of makeup on as possible, and I woke up in the middle of the night having another reaction, because it triggered my now-sensitive skin.
So, I wanted to share with you, my experience with the L.A. Girl team, and Dischem, with how they dealt with the problem.
I messaged L.A. Girl on Facebook, and the most lovely lady responded to me, called Nicole. She was so so helpful, and so friendly. She sent my blog post to Dischem, and to their America offices and she really cared about what I had to tell her. To be honest I was sort of expecting a grumpy old lady, taking in my complaint and then dismissing me swiftly, but I was pleasantly mistaken. She even called me the one time and we had a fat chat about what we're allergic too, and what to do with the foundation, brands I should try (that's how I found BioNike, in the previous post). She was incredibly sweet and I am extremely impressed with L.A Girl/Dischem South Africa's customer care. It's brilliant.
Nicole organized a little spoils package for me to apologize for my horrible experience with their foundation. They were very busy, so it took about three weeks for it to arrive but when it did it was packaged so sweetly, and I got some really lovely things, that I thought I'd show you.
This is the whole parcel, I got a good few treats, and they came in this lovely big, pink BioNike makeup bag (it's the PERFECT sized bag for me!)
I got a BioNike cleansing water (for sensitive skin), a Mineraline hand cream, a big one too, look at the size of that hand cream! I then got a makeup brush (I think for foundation/check products?) from Barbra Hofmann, and three L.A. Girl Matte Flat Velvet Lipsticks (which I'm not allergic to, thank the bleeming pope!) Hahahah.
These are the lipsticks I recieved; Raven (a pitch black shade - definitely for something like Halloween), Love Triangle (also a more funky, dress up lippie), and Hush, a stunning pink which I really love already.
The L.A. Girl Matte Flat Velvet lippies actually come with a tiny pot of lipgloss, in the lipstick's shade! I think this is absolutely awesome, because if I like the colour but don't feel like a matte, I can smack the matching lipgloss over the matte, and I'll have a shiny lip! I really love this concept, good one L.A. Girl!
And these are just swatches of each lipstick - left to right; Hush, Love Triangle and Raven. With their match lipglosses next to them. How weird is the black? A black lipgloss? It's so strange to see hahahah.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this post - Dischem have really amazing customer care, I'm very impressed and very happy with their response to my reaction.
Thank you so so much for reading x
