Review: BioNike Defence Color Foundation
Hi everyone, hope you're all well. Thank you so much for clicking on my blog post :)
I really wanted to share my opinion on this new brand I discovered thanks to the allergic reaction I had to a foundation a short while ago...
This is BioNike (I think its "nike" because it's nickel tested products, not sure though haha), they are a brand that specifically target sensitive and allergy prone skin. So I grabbed some samples of their different foundations, and I've tried them all out, except for the "protection" one.
Unfortunately the lady that helped me at the BioNike counter gave me a shade too dark for each foundation, so I had to do A LOT of blending and bringing it down my neck, so that it wasn't terribly noticeable, and I didn't look to much like I tried fake tanning my face alone - not a great look.
Despite that, I really enjoyed these foundations! This is an Italian brand, and I was told it's very popular in Italy. I was super impressed with the foundations, and my favourite one is the "Hydra" foundation. I'm really into dewy, glowing foundations lately so I thought this gave me the best results for what I was looking for, as it's a hydrating foundation (which sounds so lovely). So, I decided to go back to Dischem and purchase the actual foundation, and this this time, in the right shade ;)
The foundation is easy to work with, it's definitely a build-able coverage, I'd say its light to medium, and it gives a stunning, dewy finish. I did notice with the sample that i got, did get slightly patchy at the end of the day, but I haven't notice that much with the full foundation - maybe it moves a little bit so I need to find a way for it to stay in place a bit better due to it being the "hydra" one.
But, I still think it's loevly, and it's affordable! It's R180 (R10 more than the L.A. Girl foundation) for the full size, which I was extremely impressed with. The brand identity seems very sophisticated and luxurious, and I thought that the price would be out of my budget but I was pleasantly surprised at how great it was for the quality of the product. (Their counter display is beautiful at the Dischem I went to as well, and that's always a plus, it feels really fancy!)
The only thing is that the foundation bottle doesn't seem very big at all, but I find that a little does go a long way.
All-in-all, I'm really pleased with my new foundation, the brand has a very mature and sophisticated appearance about it, which I personally enjoy. And I am very glad to add this to my collection!
I really appreciate that they are so affordable, because I thinks it's a stunning brand for sensitive skin people. It can be so difficult finding products that you can wear, without looking like a swarm of bees attacked your face, just because you wanted to test a new product.
So, thanks BioNike for helping those with sensitive skin, and making the struggle a bit more bearable :)
These are the samples I received. You get two of the little packets (seen in the bottom right), of each foundation, in each booklet. I gave my sister one of each (because she has EXTREMELY sensitive skin), and I kept the other ones. You can get a full face of coverage from one sample :)
This is the packaging and the tube of foundation. As you can see, it's very luxurious and sophisticated. I really like the look of their products/brand.
And then this is the actual foundation, you can see some of it roughly blended into my hand, and the consistency of the foundation straight out the tube. It's not too thick or too runny, I think it's a very satisfying texture, that blends and builds well whilst not looking cakey or thick.
I'm happy that I discovered this brand, and hope to test out a few other things from them!
Have you tried them out? What do you use on your sensitive skin, if it is sensitive?
Thanks so much for reading x
