REVIEW: L.O.V The Forbidden Dramatic Volume Mascara
So, if you've watched any of my beauty videos on my YouTube channel (as of this year), then it's highly likely that I've used or been wearing this BEAUTIFUL mascara. I honestly don't know why it's taken me this long to share my love for this product, but it's most definitely time I did.
I was actually kindly sent this mascara (along with a stunning red lipstick) from the Cosmetix South Africa team, who created L.O.V, and when L.O.V was launched in December last year. L.O.V is the "big sister" of Essence and Catrice Cosmetics, and if you've seen anything about it, you'll understand why. This brand is so affordable and it is amazing quality. I was thrilled to be able to try some things out!
It was very exciting receiving these products as it was my very first press drop I had ever received. And because it was around Christmas time, and I got a beautiful festive red lip as well. I filmed a festive makeup look, trying the products out and reviewing them for the first time. On my YouTube channel, here.
Ever since I tried The Forbidden Dramatic Volume Mascara for the first time, I now swear by it. Since day one. I also love telling people about it. If you know me, you'd know that I was obsessed with the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara (as was every beauty lover), and so it's saying a lot for me to be converted to a new mascara.
This mascara has lasted me an impressive amount of time, considering it has been my main product of choice since I received it. It's definitely dying on me now, so I'd LOVE to get another one, but I suppose it's a good thing I'm running out, because now I can finally trial some other mascaras... maybe some other L.O.V ones ;) hehe
Here are some pics of the effects of this product (after 9 months of using it... yes, I know, you're only supposed to keep a mascara for 6 months, but guys... I'm seriously struggling to let this baby go) :'(
Before using The Forbidden Dramatic Volume Mascara.
After using it, (and having it for 9 months...)
I have been asked numerous times if I'm wearing fake lashes (yes, given when the mascara wasn't quite as far gone as it is now), but nevertheless, you can clearly see it's effects. And also, only using one coat as well!
The wand it a thick bristled, hourglass shape. To allow for the lifting and creating full, dramatic lashes. And it's also a new favourite for wand brushes for me, definitely an effective shape to use to get this outcome.
(Please excuse my tube, it's been very much loved as I'd take it everywhere with me haha)
This mascara definitely does was it promises. I personally love the intense black of it, and I cannot rave enough about it. It's 100% on my Top 5 beauty products list! The staying powder is also very good, it remains on all day, no fall out, and it's truly just lovely.
I also really love the packaging of this brand, it's extremely sophisticated and luxurious. The retail price that I found on Takealot (at the moment as it's on sale!) is R175, but it's usually R189. So, this is so affordable for the quality you're getting, and I would strongly recommend checking them out, if you haven't. I'm in love with the look of their other products, I just desperately need to get them to test out and review!
The packaging is stunning, I see on Instagram that they have a new range, with GOLD packaging! When I say luxurious guys, I really, really mean it.
Thank you so much for reading, and tell me; what is your go - to mascara of all time?
